several photos tonight, but nothing too artsy.....it was a long day.

You always know it's been a good night when there is a heap of clean dishes in multiple places around the apartment and the usual casserole dish soaking overnight in the sink. Tonight was our monthly dinner group of former pages. I always am so amazed at how blessed I am to have such amazing friends. 18 months ago I had no idea any of them existed, but after my amazing year and change at NBC I have made friends for life. We all sit around the table and joke about how in 20 years we'll all be telling stories about "remember when" and oddly enough this time I truly believe that will happen. Our conversations consist of "wouldn't it be nice if...." and I know one day it will turn into "guess what I did....".

A house full of people really is my idea of paradise. Some people see all the noise as a nuisance - not me, it's music to my ears. I guess it comes from growing up in a large family - always someone around and something going on.



The final picture is for Lyn - I told you they were my diva shoes! The funniest thing is I wore this with one of my favorite little black dresses, simple pearls, and simple make up (appropriate Southern style cardigan of course!) and I had half a dozen people literally stop me in the office and tell me how nice I looked. Now as thrilled as I am when someone actually looks up to notice what I'm wearing, let alone to express their feelings - I never know how to take a compliment like that. Do I not usually look nice? Do I usually look a bit sloppy or something? I know they don't mean it like that, but if I can only turn heads with the super high heels and well tailored (but found on super clearance rack at Talbots!) dress then I guess I need to start looking like this more often. The funny thing is our office is very casual, so not many people pull out the fun and sassy outfits very often. I guess I may need to break out of the office usual dark jeans and cute sweater more than once a week. The only problem???? Deciding which shoes to wear b/c as Lyn so perfectly stated yesterday - you can wear the same pair of black pants every day, but different shoes every day of the week!
